A question ......... at the end of November I'm going to have a stall at a craft fair to sell some of my books - mainly hardbound single signature books and some Japanese bound books.
I'm also thinking of making up some simple book kits to sell - a softbound single sig pamphlet book, and an accordian/concertina style book, with card covers.
Please can anybody suggest uses for a small concertina book to encourage people to make one? I'm a calligrapher and would use these books to display a small poem, quote, etc ..... but what would the 'ordinary-man/woman-in-the-street' use one for?
And do you have any more ideas for a successful craft stall?
Thanks!

Re: Selling book kits
Wed, September 24, 2003 - 7:40 PMI think the average person might use a concertina books for a special occasion photo album -- like, say, photos of a party, or a holiday -- something where a small number of photos would tell the story of a specific event.

Re: Selling book kits
Wed, September 24, 2003 - 8:55 PMWay before I got into binding, or had ever seen a handbound book, the first concertina book I ever saw was a credit-card-size address book, with ugly commercial printing, and with the covers made of magnetic plastic sheet, so it held itself closed. It had a small pocket as well, for stamps. A beautiful, handmade one would be a huge improvement - they can be made with slipcase envelopes or wraparound ties to keep them shut.
