i'm a lurker at the book arts website and saw you were asking about making lined pages for a journal. i have had some success with modifying a store bought brayer. i just score straight lines around the roller that will become the lines and then slice out some of the rubber with an exacto knife. you can decide your own spacing this way, wide lines, skinny lines, lines close together, lines far apart. it was kind of...rustic. with a little more effort and practice or a steadier hand you may be able to get more polished results.
